The 9 Muses

Given that muses are our legendary inspiration, I turned to them and sought to create a piece that dripped inspiration.

I researched the 9 muses of Ancient Greece - Polyhymnia, Euterpe, Clio, Calliope, Erato, Melponeme, Urania, Terpsichore and Thalia.

To each I added a specially designed ladybird, a background theme, a food, jewellery, pattern, clothing, weaponry, an animal, a totem character, a musical instrument, a palette and a linear style element.

This was huge fun to make, as much because it was a huge piece. It is 6 metres long, on a piece of industrial protective cardboard.
